Returning to school after such a long vacation is rewarding and stressful all at once. It’s so lovely to re-connect with the community you have built for years and spend so much time with during the school year, after a time of rejuvenation. Then comes the meetings…and cleaning…and setting up…and the stress is back!
The reward is when all those shining faces arrive on the first day of school and you know all of your past (current/future) effort is beyond worth it.
This is what my first week at work looked like:
8:30-9:00-Whole faculty meeting
9:30-10:30-Primary Division Meeting
10:45-11:45-Intermediate Division Meeting and Grade One meeting
1:00-2:00 Grade 2 and Grade 4 Meetings (at the same time)
2:15-3:15 Grade K and Grade 3 Meetings
8:30-10:00-Whole Faculty Meeting
12:30-3:30 CPR/First-Aid Training
8:30-10:30 Technology Meeting
Set-up time in the morning
11:30-3:30 GSE Meeting
Labor Day-Taking the day off! 🙂
In the next post, I will describe what it’s like to set-up the library after summer vacation.
